Massage therapy provides a wide range of physical and mental health benefits, including:

Relieving tension in muscles, fascia, and soft tissues

Massage is the perfect complementary therapy for chiropractic care. Regular massage helps relieve tension and soothe muscle pain. Our therapist Ashton will create a unique session tailored to your body's needs.

Increasing circulation in areas with stagnant blood flow

Healthy blood flow is vital for healing injuries (big and small) and reducing signs of aging. Plus, healthy circulation supports cell health, helping remove waste – critical for brain health.

Reducing migraine frequency and intensity

Many migraines stem from musculoskeletal issues like tension and spasms. Often, patients who experience migraines show increased skeletal and cervical muscle tension, trigger points, and redcued range of motion- all of which massage can help treat.

Decreasing symptoms associated with depression

High cortisol levels (the stress hormone) lead to low serotonin levels (the happy chemical). Research finds that massage can lower cortisol by 30% and increase serotonin by 28%.

Meet Our Massage Therapist, Ashton

Ashton McDonald has been practicing massage therapy for over five years in the Jacksonville area. She hasn't met a knot she doesn't love! Ashton enjoys being an integral part of our patients' healing journey, and encourages patients to be in touch with their own body's healing capacity. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, yoga, writing, and being at the beach.

Because each patient is different, so too, is each massage. Time is devoted before each session to assess areas of concern and discuss treatment. Ashton will then tailor the session according to what works best for you.

Ashton is trained in the following modalities:

  • Deep Tissue
  • Cupping Therapy
  • Sports Massage
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Acupressure
  • Reflexology
